CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Just a day removed from dominating GLVC-foe Davenport, the No. 8-ranked University of Indianapolis wrestling team sent a group of 18 wrestlers to the Wabash College Invitational.
Nathan Conley, battling the 157-bracket, was the lone Greyhound to capture a full title, while
Phoenix Rodgers and
Jake Lone shared the 197 title.

INS & OUTS
Overall, it was a solid day for the Greyhounds, with 16 Greyhounds placing for 218 total team points. Conley went 3-0 on the day, picking up falls in the quarterfinal and the finals to earn his title. For Rodgers he claimed a major and a 7-0 victory before deferring for the shared title alongside Lone, who had snagged a third-period tech fall and a second-period pin before that.

Aidan Sprague, making his return to the mat after battling injury snagged a second-place finish at 133.
Logan Farnell and
Owen Butler joined him in the second-place crew, with Butler upping his team leading tech fall count with one in the semifinals.

Cale Gray, one of the Greyhounds returning All-Americans tested the waters as well as he has struggled with injury in the early parts of the season. He did not look to have lost a step, scoring three falls on the way to his second-place finish.

Other wrestlers of note were
Parker Lee who battled through the 133 bracket, eventually capturing third with a tech fall over Kyron Sank of Huntingdon.
Gavin Garcia scored a pair of extra point victories at 141, as did
Elijah Hinshaw who scored two falls on the day.

UP NEXT
The Hounds are back on the dual scene as they welcome in both Wabash, for a reserve dual, and GLVC-foe Drury on Friday Jan. 26. Action against Wabash is set to being at 4:30 p.m. while the Hounds will battle Drury at 6 p.m., both set to take place in the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center.
