CLEVELAND - The No. 4 ranked UIndy wrestling team competed at the Findlay Open in Findlay, OH. on Saturday, with Cale Gray being the only Greyhound to place in their weight class.Â
Gray earned 15.5 team points en route to an individual fifth place finish in the 285 weight class. This event marks the first time the two-time NCAA qualifier, Gray, has wrestled for the Greyhounds this season.
INS & OUTS
Gray went 5-1 on the weekend, with his only loss coming to GLVC opponent Tyler Haynes, a member of McKendree's wrestling team. Haynes won in the final seconds of the match, winning by a 10-7Â decision over Gray.
He earned decisive victories in his first two matches of the day over Ashland's Wyatt Bailey by a major decision of 14-4, and then backed up his first match win with a 15-0 drubbing of Tiffin's Isaac Lehman.
After losing to Haynes, Gray cruised in his final three matches winning by a combined score of 25 to 11, and eventually earning the fifth place finish over Tiffin's Jake Powell after a forfeit.Â

Sophomore Luke Robards went 3-2 on the weekend in 165, where he earned a close 8-6 victory over Lake Erie's Noah Blough, before dropping his next match to defending NAIA champion Jonathan Kervin from Indiana Tech.
Toby Billerman, also competed for the first time this season in 133, as he went 3-2 on the day. He earned victories over Carson Ochs, Wheeling's Christian Osborne, and Grand Valley State's Logan Klinge, winning those matches by a combined score of 34 to five.
Billerman's two losses were both close, falling 3-0 to Wisconsin-Parkside's Joe Roti, and 5-3 to Ashland's Payton Hernandez.
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will now head up to Kenosha, Wis. to compete in the Jim Koch Open on Nov. 23, before coming back home for their first GLVC dual of the season against McKendree.
