CLERMONT, Fla. – The UIndy women's triathlon team concluded its inaugural season on Saturday afternoon, finishing 20th overall and eighth among NCAA DII programs at the Clermont Draft Legal at Lake Louisa State Park.

The weekend's meet serves as the NCAA National Championships, with members of all three divisions competing.

The Greyhounds picked up 325 points in the final standings.
Lex Wilhelm placed 94th overall and 26th against DII competition, while
Gabrielle Harrell (42) and
Lillian Sunbury (46) also finished in the top 50.
"Coach
Tanner Hatton and I are so proud of this team and the fight they brough to the National Championships this weekend," said head coach
Doug Robinson. "It was been a season of growth and gaining experience and, yet, it has also been a season of competing and racing hard."

Ainsleigh Cardone and
Hanna Burke rounded out the scoring in the UIndy top five, with
Miah Sosenheimer and
Jazmin-Maria Cardona also competing.

The University of Arizona won the national championship in just its second season of existence, while Wingate University claimed the DII trophy as a third-year program.

Due to the recent hurricanes, the swimming portion was moved off-site and took place Friday evening at a separate location. Burke topped the team leaderboard in the water, finishing 18th against fellow DII swimmers.

Wilhelm posted her fastest time since the season-opening dual against Trine, crossing the finish line in 1:07.46 on the heels of a 6:25-mile pace in the running leg. Harrell was also just 44 seconds off her season-best run time, ending the race in 1:12.44.

Sosenheimer highlighted the team's improvement in the bike race, cutting her PR down nearly three minutes from the previous mark to 38:38. The freshman caps her first collegiate campaign in 60th place.
Robinson concluded: "I am so proud of thie team and how they launched the program here at UIndy."
