Hounds Knock Off #2 Rollins on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 10 UIndy men's lacrosse team pulled off a thrilling victory on Saturday, knocking off second-ranked Rollins from Key Stadium by an 11-7 decision.

Connor Magin scored the deciding goal early in the fourth quarter, starting a 4-0 Greyhound run to put the exclamation point on the win.

Between the pipes, netminder KC Carlson stood on his head, making 13 saves against the Tars.

INS & OUTS
After Rollins forged a four-goal comeback in the third quarter to knot the game at seven apiece, UIndy came out firing in the final frame. Magin found the back of the cage at the 12:12 mark of the period off an entry pass from Owain Braddock, which proved to be the game-winner.

Braddock himself added insurance with nine minutes remaining, with Nick Randgaard putting a statement on the victory just 36 seconds later. Justin Williams, who netted a pair of goals in the first half, dished out the assist to Beau Howard on the final goal of the game with under two minutes left.

The Greyhounds built a 7-3 halftime advantage, in large part to a five-goal second quarter. Nathan Lam and Triston Schaffer added goals during the stretch, joining Magin and his first-ever collegiate score earlier in the quarter.

Carlson's 13 saves are the second highest of the season and fourth time in double figures.
