Third Quarter Highlights GLVC-Opening Victory

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The No. 13 UIndy women's lacrosse team opened GLVC action with a 20-10 victory at Lewis on Saturday afternoon, upping its all-time series lead to 6-0.

The Greyhounds received contributions from a pair of surprising underclassmen in the win, with goalkeeper Lylian Iman earning her first-career win and Emily Ghazal totaling four points against the Flyers.

Clinging to an 11-9 advantage at halftime, the UIndy flew by Lewis in the final 30 minutes, outscoring its hosts by eight. The aforementioned Ghazal netted all three of her goals in the third quarter, highlighting an impressive 7-0 scoring run during the frame.

Joining Ghazal with a second-half hat trick was Sage Da Silva, who started the running clock with 14 minutes remaining. Olivia Bladon, who finished with four goals in the win, capped the afternoon's scoring with an unassisted netter late in the fourth quarter.

Iman made six of her eight saves in the second half, fueling the UIndy attack in the final 30 minutes. The sophomore netminder also scooped up one ground ball.

Mackenzie Winn led all players with six goals, including five in the first half, while also securing a pair of draw controls.
