Dominant Second Half Pushes Hounds Past Hawks

QUINCY, Ill. – The No. 14 UIndy women's lacrosse team remained perfect against Quincy on Friday night, dominating the final 45 minutes en route to an 18-7 road victory.

The Hawks were receiving votes in the IWLCA national poll entering the matchup. The Greyhounds improve to 4-0 in the all-time series, splitting their wins between Key Stadium and QU Stadium.

Mackenzie Winn led all players with nine points, while Megan Dunn and Joey Fowler joined their teammate with four goals apiece.

INS & OUTS
It was an electric first quarter, as Quincy jumped out to a 3-0 lead over a six-plus minute stretch. The Greyhounds stormed back, scoring four unanswered goals in only four minutes, beginning with Winn. Fowler netted a pair during the run, while Malaena Michielin tallied her first of two goals.

It was all UIndy from that point, as the visitors blanked Quincy in the second quarter behind two goals from Olivia Bladon, including one just before halftime.

Rookie netminder Ava Graham made six saves in the win, with three in each half. The UIndy defense surrendered just five shots on goal in the final 30 minutes, forcing 10 of Quincy's 16 turnovers after the break.

Megan Dunn scored her fourth and final goal in the six-score fourth quarter for the Hounds, as did Fowler at the 3:19 mark to enforce the running clock.

INSIDE THE BOX
- UIndy went perfect in clear attempts for the fourth time this spring, sprinting past the Quincy ride on all 15 occasions. It is the most clears in a game without an error for the Greyhounds since April 14, 2023, against Rockhurst.
- Michielin controlled the action in the midfield, scooping up a game-high five ground balls to add to her two goals, one assist, and one caused turnover.
- Bladon recorded her fifth consecutive hat trick, while also leading the team in draw controls for the second straight game. The sophomore tops the team with 45 goals this season.
- Senior defenders Olivia Grogan and Madison Phillips each caused one turnover against the Hawks' attack, while combining for three scoops.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds wrap up their road trip on Sunday with a 1 p.m. ET battle with Missouri Western. It will be UIndy's first trip to St. Joseph, Mo., since the programs' inaugural meeting in April 2021.
