GREENWOOD, Ind. – A day removed from decimating the Lewis Flyers, the Hounds faced a stout Illinois Springfield squad who entered the battle 7-3. However, the Hounds made that 7-4, handing the Prairie Stars a 5-2 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles, the ever constant of the current look Greyhounds, was a one and three show with the No. 1 pair of
Tom Zeuch and
Matthieu Derache getting the job done in a 6-2 win.
David Simeonov and Pedro France closed the book on doubles at court three with a 6-4 win of their own.
Despite dropping matches at courts two and three, the Hounds did not sweat singles as No. 1-ranked Zeuch led by example with a big 6-1, 6-2 sweep at the top spot.
Manuel Lanteri, Derache and
Federico Riolo all followed the lead with sweeps of their own. Both Lanteri and Riolo, true freshman alike, scored 6-1 second set wins.
