GREENWOOD, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis women's tennis team is getting hot as they enter conference play, opening 2-0 with a pair of dominant performances, today coming versus the Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars.
Behind singles wins on courts two through six, the Hounds moved back to above .500 for the first time since Feb. 23.
HOW IT HAPPENED
As the end-of-the-year doubles pairings continue to take shape, it was
Diane Flament and
Benedetta Sensi out of the No. 2 slot, alongside
Ana Hollweg and
Tyffaine Pais to claim doubles glory. Both teams eeked out 6-4 victories to put the Hounds up early.
The Hounds kept cookin' in singles as Sensi, Hollweg,
Maria Fiacan and
Valentine Colin were lights out, all working straight-sets victories.
Jimena De Pablos Hernando, in the six spot, rallied from a first set setback to take her last two 6-1, 6-0 to claim the victory.
