INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 8-ranked UIndy men's tennis team is Orlando, Fla. bound once again after sweeping the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional!
Â
The Greyhounds, a day removed from sweeping Findlay 4-0, replicated that performance and more, sweeping the No. 21 McKendree Bearcats by a score of 4-0 in the UIndy Tennis Center. The Hounds have now swept their last five opponents.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds domination started in doubles play with the top-dawgs of
Tom Zeuch and
Matthieu Derache setting the plate with a 6-1 effort at the top court.
Louis Picaud and
Erwan Momo Andre cleaned it up with a come-from-behind 7-5 win to secure the point.
Â
Â
Manuel Lanteri picked right back up from where the doubles ended, crushing his foe 6-1, 6-2. Right next to him, just minutes later, Picaud did the same, going 6-2, 6-1 to bring the sweep within one.
Â
In a fit of pure poetics, the man that screams UIndy Tennis was the one to send them back to Nationals. Facing No. 15 Leonardo Frederico, Zeuch put on a clinic, going 6-0, 6-1 and officially punching the Hounds ticket to Orlando!
