INDIANAPOLIS - On Sunday, Sept. 8, the University of Indianapolis women's soccer team lost 2-1 to in-region Ferris State University.Â
The Greyhounds went back and forth with the Bulldogs for the majority of the first half until Reese Carmody delivered a breakaway goal on a strong setup from Katherine Welch. The Bulldogs scored again early in the second half off a long-range strike from Annie Harley.Â
In the face of a 2-0 deficit, the Hounds kept applying pressure to the Bulldog's defense, and in the 54th minute, Stephanie Brady buried a goal past Ferris State's Morgan Fillion. Antiya Sidibe was credited with the assist after a nice give-and-go action with Brady. The Hounds would put two more shots on target but weren't able to put either chance in the back of the net.Â
UIndy held an advantage over Ferris State in both total shots and shots on goal, but their offensive efforts were held at bay by Fillion, who had seven saves on eight shots on goal.Â
