Greyhounds Celebrate Senior Day With A Pair of Dual Wins

INDIANAPOLIS – The nationally-ranked UIndy swimming & diving teams took down visiting Denison on Friday evening, outpacing their guests 174-124 on the women's side and a nearly-identical 174.5-123.5 on the men's. A perennial-national power in NCAA Division III, Denison was ranked No. 2 on the men's side and fifth on the women's in the latest CSCAA DIII Dual Meet Poll.
 
SENIOR DAY
UIndy honored 29 student-athletes during the first intermission. One of the most-successful classes in program history, the robust list included Mihir Ambre, Laura Allende, Andile Bekker, Cedric Buessing, Brayden Cole, Nkosi Dunwoody, Kalina Fuglie, Jamie Glover, Andrea Gomez, Megan Gregory, Kyra Hall, Aqeel Joseph, Sarah Kerbrat, Austin Kehr, Mia Krstevska, Alexis Lumaj, Julia Magierowska, Pablo Marin, Mark Marroquin, AJ Padilla, Andrea Paaske, Sam Reiger, Isabella Revstedt, Mattia Rossi, Celina Schmidt, Sharon Semchiy, Brynhildur Traustadottir, Jackson Vanwanzeele and Yaaseen Yunus.
   
INS & OUTS
UIndy dominated the Big Red, winning 23 of the 28 races in the lap pool, including all four relays. Cedric Buessing led the charge with three individual wins. He set fresh B cuts in both the 200 breast and 200 IM while hitting the NCAA automatic standard in the 1000 free.
 
Celina Schmidt also won three individual events, touching first in the women's 200 IM while sweeping the breaststroke races.
 
Meanwhile, Lillie Arps (200 free) and Jamie Glover (1000 free) each generated first-time B-cut swims, while Andrea Gomez (100 fly) and Mia Krstevska (200 back) improved on existing B standards.
 
Junior-transfer Jeremias Pock continues to rack up wins in his first season as a Greyhound, touching first in the 100 breast and the 100 free.
 
The Hounds went 1-2-3 in two other races, led by a Mihir Ambre win in the men's 100 fly and a Krstevska victory in the women's 100 back.
 
Ambre also won the men's 50 free with a time of 20.36, while Kirabo Namutebi took first in the women's 50 with a 22.84.
