Hounds Fall to Panthers on Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball team dropped a tough GLVC matchup on Thursday evening to Drury, falling by a score of 80-77 at Nicoson Hall.

The Greyhounds led for nearly 25 minutes, but it was the Panthers who never looked back at the 7:31 mark of the second half.

Grant Disken led UIndy with 18 points, with Dashawn Jackson and Lavonte Harris joining him in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hounds had their chance to pull away midway through the second half, leading 67-62 with under 11 minutes left. Drury took advantage of UIndy's cold shooting, using a 10-0 run to lead the rest of the way.

Tucker Tornatta was a key contributor in the team's late comeback attempt, accounting for two steals and a free throw before finding Dylan Ingram for a layup to inch the Greyhounds back within a pair.

Disken drilled a left-wing triple with 74 seconds left, forcing a Drury as the lead dwindled to a single point at 76-75. The Panthers sealed the win at the charity stripe, going a perfect 6-for-6 at the line in the final two minutes.

Lavonte Harris provided big minutes for the Greyhounds, scoring seven of his 10 points after the break. The junior was also one of eight Greyhounds with at least four rebounds, securing his lone offensive board in the second half.
