INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball earned its first GLVC win of the season on Friday, picking up a 75-71 victory over McKendree in a physical contest from Nicoson Hall.
Â
It marks the fourth straight win over the Bearcats and closest margin of victory for the Greyhounds in the series since the 2021-22 season.
Â
Dylan Ingram recorded his first-career double-double on Friday, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while adding four blocks.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Grant Disken capped a 9-2 run early in the second half to give UIndy its largest lead of the evening, tipping in a missed triple from
Zac Szul to stretch the advantage to 14. The Bearcats followed with their own 14-2 run, however, scoring nine straight points to force a UIndy timeout.
Â
The Hounds held serve, with
Dashawn Jackson and
Brody Whitaker following a huge dunk from
Kelvin Amoako to keep the Bearcats at bay. Leading by four with 93 seconds left, Disken launched a 3-pointer from the logo to beat the shot clock buzzer, shifting the momentum back into the Greyhounds' favor.
Â
UIndy sealed it at the charity stripe, sinking its final five free throws – including four from Ingram – to put the game out of reach. An errant 3-pointer from McKendree's Joey Niesman proved fruitless at the horn, lifting
Scott Heady to his first win league play as the Greyhound head coach.
Â
Disken scored eight of his 10 points in the second half, adding four rebounds in the win.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX
- Jackson and Whitaker both flirted with double-doubles, securing eight and nine rebounds, respectively, to go along with their double-digit points.

- Ingram's four blocks raise his team lead to 15, with his seven ranking second in GLVC contests.
