UIndy Tennis Director Malik Tabet went on to say after today's match. "Finishing strong, especially getting a win over Columbus State in a very tight match is a great statement. Columbus State has always been a tough team to compete against and coming ahead today was definitely a great way to finish this tournament on a good note."

The Cougars got on the board first in taking the doubles point. Elias Peter and Andrea Sandrone took the first best-of-three doubles matches by defeating David Simeonov and Matthieu Derache 6-3 in #1 doubles. Samer Al-Tori and Camilo Cano beat Manu Lanteri and Lorenzo Di Cursi in #3 doubles by a score of 6-3 to gain the first point for CSU.

The Hounds immediately worked to flip the script in singles, with Derache making quick work of Cano in #3 singles, winning 6-2 6-1 to knot the match at one a piece. The Cougars responded instantly with a win from Peter in #6 singles, where he topped Di Cursi 6-3 6-1. Asier Ayllon Prado leveled the match at 2-2 after he bested Benedek Szombathelyi 6-1 6-4.

It all came down to the #1 singles court, where Simeonov and Daniel Hammond battled back and forth all match. Simeonov took the first set 7-6, winning 9-7 in the tiebreak.
