INDIANAPOLIS - On the final day of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, the University of Indianapolis women's tennis team ran out of gas against #4 Lynn University, falling. 0-4. The Greyhounds now sit at 2-4 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy once again started down 0-1 in the match and 0-1 in the doubles point due to an incomplete lineup. The Fighting Knights, just needing one of two wins in doubles, took the point when Kristen Younes and Carla Galmiche bested
Linya Chen and Suryanshi 4-6 in #1 singles.
Jimena De Pablos Hernando and
Silvia Zappoli were up 5-4 in #2 singles before the doubles point closed.
The deficit increased to three points when Salma Djoubri outed Zappoli 6-0 6-0 in #1 singles. Zofia Podbiol sealed the deal for Lynn when she took down
Andrea Garcia 6-3 6-2 in #5 singles. Suryanshi had a 6-2 2-1 lead over Younes in #4 singles, and De Pablos Hernando was contesting the second set with a 4-1 lead when the match ended.
