UIndy Stretches Win Streak Versus McKendree to Baker’s Dozen

LEBANON, Ill. – Ella Fornek's career-high five goals led the UIndy women's lacrosse team in a 20-6 victory over GLVC rival McKendree on Friday evening. Overall, four Greyhounds recorded a hat trick in the win, while 10 players were credited with a point.

The win ups UIndy's winning streak against McKendree to a baker's dozen (13), while also increasing its running-clock stretch to an even 10. The Hounds now lead the all-time series, 13-5.

INS & OUTS
It took all of 31 seconds before the Hounds took the lead for good, with Caroline Krauch and Sage Da Silva netting the game's first goals in the opening minutes. Although the Bearcats evened the score soon after, Fornek provided the game-winning goal at the 10:15 mark.

Fornek sparked a five-goal run for the Greyhounds, with Malaena Michielin capping the stretch with her second score. Elle Cimini became the third Hound to record a hat trick, ending the third quarter like she began the second.

Bladon joined the club 12:44 left in the game, as did Michielin less than five minutes later. The junior finished the scoring as the running clock ticked under three minutes, giving Da Silva her lone assist of the afternoon.

UIndy netted four straight goals three times, including the five-score stretch in the first quarter.
