ST. LOUIS - The UIndy women's golf team placed second in its final tournament of the regular season. The Greyhounds competed in the UMSL Spring Invitational in St. Louis at the Norwood Hills Country Club.

INS & OUTS
Out of the 18 East Region teams competing, 12 were members of the GLVC; the tournament acted as a pre-conference tournament for the members competing. Host Missouri-St. Louis won the tournament at +17, with the Hounds finishing runner-up to the Tritons with a final score of +46 (304-282-302).

Ava Ray tied for third in the individual standings after shooting +2 (73-70-74). Ray's three-under score in the second round landed her in first place going into the final day. The junior held onto a top-three finish despite a group of bogies in the final back-nine.

Macey Brown also finished inside the top 10, earning a share of eighth place. Brown finished +11 (73-76-75).
Caroline Whallon was the next finisher for UIndy at t-15th with a final score of +11 (78-73-77). Whallon also had an eagle during the tourney. The sophomore achieved it on the fourth hole, a par-four, during the second round.

Abby Stone and
Ellen Caton rounded out the Hounds' lineup. Stone tied for 22nd at +18 (80-75-76). Caton placed t-80th with a final score of +44 (87-82-88).

UP NEXT
The GLVC Championships are on deck for the Greyhounds. The conference tournament returns to Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill., for the second year in a row. Action is slated to begin on Friday, April 12 and last through Sunday the 27th.
