ST. LOUIS – The UIndy men's lacrosse closed its final chapter of the 2025 season on Thursday, falling to host and top-seeded Maryville by a score of 13-6 in the GLVC semifinals. This spring marked the 10th team in program history since inception in 2016.

AJ Preachuk matched his season-high total in saves with 15, while
Triston Schaffer logged a team-best three points.

Maryville jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first 25 minutes before Schaffer found
Nathan Lam for the Hounds' first score of the afternoon.
Lachlan Korn scooped up the ground ball in transition, finding Schaffer immediately to give UIndy numbers in the attacking zone.

The Greyhound offense picked up steam in the third quarter, scoring four times to cut the deficit to four with nearly 17 minutes remaining. Schaffer capped the scoring run, while
Nick Luitwieler,
Keegan Laughlin, and
Matt Pereira all netted goals during the stretch.

The Saints halted any momentum the Hounds gained, putting the game on ice with four consecutive goals to lead by eight early in the final frame.
Connor Magin scored the contest's last goal at the 9:10 mark to finish with 14 this spring.

Schaffer's 41 goals and 55 points is good for fourth and seventh, respectively, in the single-season annals, while the three-year attacker graduates ranked second and third in each respective category. Meanwhile between the pipes, Preachuk closes his first season as a Greyhound with the most saves in a single season with 164. The redshirt-junior was also named to the GLVC All-Tournament team following his performance.

The freshmen defensive duo of
Mitchell Carik and
Alec Score combined for 46 caused turnovers (23 each) and 111 ground balls (55 and 56, respectively), while also dishing out three assists. Carik went 3 for 5 on the faceoff x when his name was called, even winning his lone opportunity on Thursday against the Saints.

Lam finishes his impressive four-year UIndy career ranked second on the team with 46 points, scoring 32 goals and dishing out 14 assists. The Cochrane, Alberta, native etches his name into the program record book ranked ninth in both career points and goals.

In its 10 seasons, UIndy has an all-time record of 97-48 and sits just three wins from the century club. Head coach
Greg Stocks started the program back in 2016, earning conference Coach of the Year honors three times, while leading the Greyhounds to three GLVC titles and five NCAA tournament berths.
