ALLENDALE, MI – In the Midwest Regional final, the University of Indianapolis women's tennis team narrowly fell to sixth-seeded Rockhurst 4-3.
The match was tightly contested until the final tiebreak, with three matches being decided with tiebreaks.

The Hawks took the first point of the match with wins #2 and #3 doubles. Suryanshi and Linya Chen were defeated 6-2 at #3 doubles, while Jimena De Pablos Hernando and Silvia Zappoli fell to Marina Magai and Daniela Lentisco 6-3.
In singles, Suryanshi evened the match at 1-1 after a resounding win on court #2, taking down Sofia Valdespino 6-0, 6-1.
The Greyhounds then took a 2-1 lead after Sofia Cardenas brought in a 6-1, 6-3 win at #6 singles over Maria Baez.
The Hawks responded back in #4 singles, and leveled the match at 2-2 after Magai bested Chen in a second-set breaker 6-4, 7-6.
UIndy regained the lead after De Pablos Hernando out-willed Zuzanna Szmyd in a three-set thriller, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in #3 singles.
Rockhurst tied the match at three a piece after hanging onto a tiebreak win at #1 singles. In a battle between No. 23 Eleanor Coleman and No. 37 Tyffaine Pais, Coleman took home the first set in a tiebreak, winning 7-4. Pais responded back with a 6-4 win in the second set. The third set went down to another tiebreak, where Coleman ultimately won 7-3.
The match was left up to the matchup at #5 singles, where Lentisco and Zappoli went the distance. Zappoli took the first set 6-2, while Lentisco won the second 6-4. After both players exchanged breaks in the third set, it went to a match-deciding tiebreak, where Lentisco outlasted Zappoli 7-1.
The result wraps up the 2025 campaign for the Greyhounds, who finish the season with a 13-7 record.
