INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's bowling team competed in its season opener over the weekend, placing eighth amongst a field of 24 programs. Rookie

Fellow freshman
Carolyn Edmisten also finished in the top 20 with three games north of 200.
Â
This season marks the first time UIndy fields two teams, Crimson and Grey, in program history. The Grey squad placed fifth among other similar opponents.
Â
"What a great weekend for UIndy Bowling," said head coach
Cam Estes. "I was impressed by how quickly the early-season jitters faded and how everyone worked hard and kept improving all weekend."
Â
Weigle rolled a weekend-best 246, narrowly outside the program's top three for a single game. The freshman capped her first collegiate weekend with another 200 performance to surpass 1,200 pins.
Â
Four Hounds recorded at least one 200 game, including Edmisten (three), Issy Davenport (two), and
Lindsey Reardon (one). Reardon, competing for the Grey team, knocked down 1,037 pins and averaged 172.8 over six games.
Madi Pigott also knocked down 1,000 pins for the Grey team, highlighted by a 190 in the penultimate round.

Â
Both teams combined for eight 200+ games during the Baker format, with the Crimson squad rolling 213 twice.
