JOPLIN, Mo.— The University of Indianapolis fell to Minnesota State with a final score of 12-6 on Sunday in a neutral-site matchup. Despite a third-inning surge that saw the Greyhounds score three runs, Minnesota State's consistent offense proved decisive.
Garrett Rusch led the offensive charge with three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Humphrey contributed by scoring twice, collecting two hits, and stealing a base. Bowen added to the effort with a hit, an RBI, and reached base on a walk. Duran made an impact with a triple, a hit, and scored a run, while also drawing a walk.

Indianapolis took an early lead in the third inning, scoring three runs.
Brayton Bowen's single drove in Gavin Rusch, who had previously hit a two-RBI single that scored Brayton Perry and
Joey Humphrey. This put the Greyhounds ahead 3-0. Minnesota State responded in the bottom of the third, narrowing the gap to 3-2 after an RBI double by Jake Berkland and a groundout that added another run.
In the fourth inning, Minn. St. Mankato surged ahead with four runs. A series of walks and a hit-by-pitch set up L. Miller to reach on a fielder's choice, scoring two unearned runs due to an error. Berkland and Louis Magers each added RBI singles, extending the lead for the Mavericks
Indianapolis managed to score again in the sixth inning when
Gavin Duran tripled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Jack Kerno. However, Minnesota State answered with two more runs in their half of the inning, aided by an error and a sacrifice fly.
In the seventh, the Greyhounds added a run with a double by Rusch that brought home
Chase Mason.
The final run for the Greyhounds came in the ninth inning.
Joey Humphrey scored on a fielding error, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit. The Mavericks sealed the game with a final score of 12-6.
