The University of Indianapolis is proud to have had 172 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America®
selections all-time, good for third all-time among Division II institutions.
CSC selects Academic All-America teams in 16 programs: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men''s tennis, women's tennis, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's track & field/cross country, women's track & field/cross country, men's at-large and women's at-large.Tennis and swimming & diving were included in the at-large category until 2022-23.
For 2011-12, the AAA program expanded from two teams - a University Division team and a College Division Team - to four divisional teams, with student-athletes being honored separately in Division I, Division II and Division III. A fourth team - the College Division team - is comprised of NAIA, Canadian and two-year student-athletes.
A first team, second team and third team are selected in every sport, except football, which consists of just first and second team honorees.

GLVC SCHOLAR ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
The league selects one student-athlete in each conference sport to be designated the Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year. The award is based upon athletic accomplishments, both team and individual, and academic performance in the season upon which the award is based. Each conference member has the opportunity to nominate one individual from its team for the award. Nominees must have a cumulative grade point average which meets Academic All-America standards (3.30), and freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for the award. The voting is completed by each member institution's Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR).

GLVC RICHARD F. SCHARF PARAGON AWARD
The Richard F. Scharf Paragon Award is awarded annually to one male and one female student-athlete, based upon academic excellence, athletic ability and achievement, character and leadership. These individuals represent the best student-athletes the GLVC has to offer. Prior to the Richard F. Scharf Paragon Award's inception, from 1985-1989, the Paragon Award was the award given to the player of the year in each GLVC sport.

NCAA ELITE 90 AWARD
The ELITE 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

NCAA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is a one-time grant of $7,500, and weighs a student-athlete's athletic acheivements along with their academic performance, institutional involvement and volunteer community service.
To qualify, student-athletes must excel academically and athletically, be in their final year of eligibility and plan to pursue graduate study. Student-athletes must also maintain at least a 3.2 grade-point average and be nominated by their institution's faculty athletics representative.
Created in 1964, NCAA postgraduate scholarships promote and encourage education by rewarding the Association's most accomplished student-athletes.
