Collin Lanam enters his fifth season with the men's basketball program at UIndy. He assists the Greyhound program in all facets, including scouting, recruiting, on-court instruction, video coordination and summer camps.
The Greyhounds reached 20 wins for the second year in a row and the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row in 2012-13. The program was ranked for 10 consecutive weeks in the NABC Division II Top 25, including rising to No. 5 in the country in January, the highest ranking for UIndy since Feb. 1997. Lanam helped coach four all-conference players with Reece Cheatham and James Hollowell on the All-GLVC Second Team, while Daniel Daudu and Tyrae Robinson were selected to the GLVC All-Defensive Team.
In his third season (2011-12), he helped lead the Greyhounds to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and first NCAA Tournament victory since 1996. UIndy also won 20 games (20-9) for the first time since 2003-04, while being ranked in the NABC Division II Top 25 for five weeks during the season. The Greyhounds defeated the nation's top team twice with a 99-94 overtime home win vs. No. 1 Bellarmine and 80-77 road win at No. 1 Kentucky Wesleyan. Overall, UIndy won five games against Top 25 teams, including a 4-2 mark against top 10 teams.
Lanam has worked with a pair of UIndy All-Americans in guards Darius Adams (2011) and Adrian Moss (2012) as both players also were selected to play in the prestigious Reese's Division II College All-Star Game.
Lanam helped the Greyhounds reach the NCAA Tournament in 2010-11 for the first time since 2005, while 19-win UIndy was ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since 2004.
Lanam worked as the graduate manager for the men's basketball team at Southern Illinois prior to UIndy. He is a 2006 graduate of Wabash College and is a graduate of Crawfordsville (Ind.) High School, where he was the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant in the 2005-06 season.
