Indianapolis native and UIndy alumnus Paul Corsaro was named the 13th men’s basketball head coach in UIndy program history in April of 2020. Since taking over the program, Corsaro has led UIndy to a 56-28 (.667) record and two winning seasons.
The 2022-23 NABC Midwest Coach of the Year and GLVC Coach of the Year, led the Greyhounds to the most single-season (26) and GLVC (17) wins in program history, as well as only the second GLVC Regular Season Championship in program history. The program was ranked as high as No. 4 in the NABC national poll and selected as the top seed in the DII Midwest Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
As UIndy Head Coach, Corsaro has recruited and coached 11 All-GLVC selections, along with Kendrick Tchoua earning 2022-23 GLVC Player of the Year honors.
Corsaro returned to the program after two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Division-I (DI), Purdue Fort Wayne. In his first season in 2018-19, Corsaro assisted the program to a 18-15 (.545) record and the program’s first winning Summit league record (9-7) in three seasons.
Corsaro spent six seasons as an assistant coach for the Greyhounds from 2012 to 2018. During the span, he helped lead the program to six winning seasons, four 20+ win seasons, and four NCAA Tournament berths, including the first Sweet 16 appearance in program history.
As a two-sport student-athlete at UIndy, Corsaro earned three letters as a member of the Greyhound football team and three more on the hardwood under Head Coach Stan Gouard – often given the toughest defensive assignment for the opposing team. He was a part of Gouard’s first NCAA Tournament team in 2010-11 and a member of the Hounds’ first NCAA DII football playoff team in 2012. He still holds the modern program record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with eight in 2010.
Corsaro graduated from UIndy with a bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2012 and a master’s in Business Administration in 2014. A product of local Roncalli High School, he is the all-time leading scorer in school history with 1,156 career points. Corsaro married his wife, Brooke, in the summer of 2022.
