Hired at the start of the 2018-19 season, Joey Silva serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer primarily responsible for men’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis.
Silva comes to UIndy after spending the previous two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Southern Indiana. While at USI, he completed his Master’s degree in health administration while serving as the primary Athletic Trainer with women’s volleyball and softball. Joey graduated in 2016 from UIndy with a bachelor’s in athletic training.
As a student at UIndy, Silva gained athletic training experience working with football, volleyball, track & field and wrestling. He also gained experience in several off-campus sites, including Butler University and many local high schools.
Silva is a native of Frankfort, Ind., and currently resides in Indianapolis.
