Nick Simonetti has been the UIndy graduate assistant for two seasons, helping the young Greyhounds capture immediate success.
Most recently, UIndy went 7-5 and finished the season receiving votes in the USILA/Nike Coaches Poll. The Hounds earned a marquee win at No. 5 Lindenwood, 9-4.
Working with the keepers, Simonetti helped Jarod Kimble finish as the NCAA Division II leader in save percentage and third in goals-against average. He also mentored Kimble to his 2016 ECAC Rookie of the Year honor.
Simonetti, a former goalkeeper, played lacrosse at Queens University of Charlotte prior to transferring to Lake Erie College in 2013. After transferring, Nick continued playing collegiate lacrosse for current UIndy coach Greg Stocks, and also walked on the men’s soccer team. Nick lead the Storm Men's Lacrosse team his junior and senior year to two conference championships and an NCAA “Final Four” appearance in 2015, the first in school history.
A four-time all-academic ECAC/GLIAC athlete, Simonetti received the statistical champion award for the best goals against average in all of Division II in 2015.
Simonetti graduated from Lake Erie in December 2015 with a degree in Sports Studies.
