Tim Richey

Longtime coach Tim Richey begins is second season mentoring the UIndy jumps group in 2016-17. Under Richey's tutelage last season, the Greyhounds scored big points at the two GLVC Championships with eight top-three finishes in the jumps, including winning both the indoor and outdoor men's long jump and the outdoor men's high jump. He also guided the UIndy women's pole vaulters as they reset the program's indoor record four times and the outdoor mark once.

Two years ago, Richey served in the same position at Ball State where the Cardinals had the top jumps in the state of Indiana (all NCAA divisions) in the high jump, long jump and pentathlon during the indoor season.

Prior to coaching at the college level, Richey was the head coach at local Lawrence Central High School from 2002-2014, leading the Bears to three team state titles. His student-athletes combined for two individual state championships in the long jump and six in the pole vault, with the latter total part of 23 pole vault state medals.

In addition, he had LC athletes own both the boys' and the girls' state pole vault records, while also coaching a 6'10" male high jumper and a 5'10" female jumper. Richey also mentored Kimyanna Rudolph to win the 2012 national outdoor title in the pole vault with a PR of 13'2.5".
