Tatiana Zhuravleva

Former UIndy All-American Tatiana Zhuravleva enters her third season as a graduate assistant in 2016-17. As a student-athlete, Zhuravleva was a national champion for the Greyhounds in 2014, winning the discus at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships with a school-record throw of 188 feet.

Other accolades for the Russia native include 2014 GLVC Outdoor Athlete of the Year, 2014 All-American in the indoor shot put and 2013-14 Robert M. Brooker Most Valuable Athlete Award -- given yearly to UIndy's top male and top female student-athlete. Zhuravleva was also a five-time NJCAA All-America and two-time NJCAA national champion at Vincennes University prior to transferring to UIndy.

In addition, Zhuravleva is currently a member of the Russian National Team. Her international experience includes placing third at the 2014 Russian Championship, competing at 2015 World University Games and qualifying for the 2016 European Championships.

Her vast experience working with coaches from around the world has taught her a number of styles and techniques that greatly benefit her coaching skills. "I see throwing from a bio-mechanical perspective," she says, "because every person is different. We all have different physiology and what works for one person, might not work for another. So I focus on the athlete as an individual.''?
