Ellen Caton

Caton is entering her first season as the UIndy women's Graduate Assistant after spending the last four seasons as a golfer on the UIndy women's golf team.

She saw a lot of success in her four seasons as a Greyhound, including playing the GLVC Championships in both 2021-22 and 2024-25. She also played in the NCAA DII East Regional tournament in 2021-22 and 2024-25. Caton recorded her career best T-11 place finish at the 2021 Dayton Flyer Fall Invite, including a season-low 73 in the first round. In her career she's posted seven top-25 or better finishes. She erased a four-stroke deficit in the final two holes of her GLVC finals pairing, making a birdie on the par-5 18th hole to halve her match, and help the Hounds to the 2022 conference title. Caton also earned Academic All-GLVC three times, earned the 2025 James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award in 2025, and was named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team in the 2021-22 season.

Prior to her time at UIndy, Caton was one of the top amateurs in Scotland, earning a win at the Royal & Ancient Club Local Club's Gold Medal event in 2019. She also qualified for the prestigious St. Rule Trophy – a top European women's amateur event. Caton was part of the Scottish girl's training team, and finished runner-up at the St. Andrew's Junior match play Championships in the summer of 2021.

Caton is the daughter of Dale and Catriona Caton, and has a brother, Ben, who played golf at Houston Baptist University.
