UIndy Athletics

2012-13:  Finished 16th on the three meter board at the GLIAC Championships to help the Greyhounds finish second, their best record since 2005 ... won the three meter event at the Woehnker Invitational (11/16-17) ... earned first letter.

High School:  Earned four varsity letters in diving, one in lacrosse and one in golf ... placed fifth in sectionals as a freshman and sixth as a senior, while missing her sophomore and junior season with end of season injuries ... member of legendary Greyhounds' swim program that went undefeated and won conference, sectional and state championships during each of her four years of high school. 

Personal:  Full name is Maria Sofia Metaxas ... daughter of Paula and John Metaxas ... has two younger sisters, Sophia and Nina ... father played college football at DePauw, while her cousin, Gregory Angelides, swims for Tufts ... mother attended UIndy ... majoring in pre-law ... four-time scholar athlete and member of National Honor Society ... born Dec. 9, 1993.
