Matt Fields is in his second year on the UIndy Wrestling staff in 2017-18.
Fields, a 2012 graduate of Purdue with a degree in Psychology, left the Boilermakers tied for 11th in career falls and tied for fifth in career reversals. The Whiteland, Ind. native had a team-best 24 wins as a redshirt senior in 2011-12, and added a team-best 10 falls to cap his Purdue career. He was also named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week during his career.
Since graduating from Purdue, Fields has worked in adult and child mental health and coached at his alma mater, Whiteland High School, where he was a three-time Indiana state placer. Fields took eighth as a sophomore, sixth as a junior and won a state title as a senior.
