Andrea Vega begins her third season at UIndy with the men and women’s swimming and diving program in 2024-2025.
Her first season on the staff included proved the most successful in program history as the Greyhound men captured their first-ever team national title in March of '23, while the UIndy women secured their second straight runner-up finish.
The Greyhounds racked up eight event national titles at the 2023 NCAA DII Championships, including four on the women's side (50 free, 100 back, 200 FR, 400 FR) and four on the men's (1000 free, 200 FR, both diving events). All told, the Hounds amassed a combined 76 All-America performances and 11 school records on the week.
Prior to coming to UIndy she served as a Volunteer Assistant coach at Northwestern University for the 2021-2022 season. During her time assisting the Northwestern program the women’s team placed fifth at the B1G Championship and the men placed sixth.
Before her time at Northwestern, she served at a Graduate Assistant Coach at her alma matter Olivet Nazarene University. She helped lead the ONU women’s team to a KCAC Championship title in both 2020 and '21, while the the men’s team placed second both seasons. The women’s team took fourth at the NAIA National Championship during the 2019-2020 season.
As a student-athlete at Olivet, she was named a NAIA Champion of Character as a senior. Her sophomore year the women’s team won the NAIA National Championship title as the first women’s team in school history to win a national championship. As well as a 30-time All-American and an 11-time National Champion, Vega was awarded Swim of the Meet at the 2019 NAIA National Championship for the 100 breaststroke. She has her bachelor's in Child Development and master's in Organizational Leadership.
