Butler enters his first season as a UIndy women's soccer assistant coach in 2025.
He arrives from Pearl River Community College in Mississippi, where he spent two years as an assistant coach. He played a key role in building the Wildcats into one of the top junior college programs. In his time, the Wildcats earned a top-10 national ranking in 2024, and won the Region 23 and Gulf South District Championship in 2023 and 2024. The team also made back-to-back national tournament appearances. Butler's primary focus was with goalkeepers and defensive organization, helping post the lowest goals against average in program history, while mentoring multiple players to four-year programs.
Before his time at Pearl River CC, Butler was the head coach at Picayune Memorial High School in Mississippi. Butler developed a consistent postseason contender, and produced several collegiate soccer players. Along with his time at Picayune, he coached at Gulf Coast United, and Hattiesburg Futbol Club.
Butler is a United State Marine Corps veteran, serving as an infantry squad leader before transitioning into coaching.
Butler received a master's degree in interscholastic athletic administration from William Carey University, and has a bachelor's degree in sports coaching in education from the University of Southern Mississippi. He currently resides in Indianapolis with his wife Amy.
