UIndy Athletics

Dr. Lawrence Sondhaus is UIndy's Faculty Athletic Representative. a role he has proudly filled since 2003. The 2019 GLVC Dr. Thomas Kearns Service Award winner, Dr. Sondhaus chaired the GLVC from 2008 to 2012, and served for several years on the scheduling committee and the membership/expansion committee.

Dr. Sondhaus has been a professor of history at UIndy since 1987. He specializes in naval and military history, authoring 13 books.

Sondhaus earned his bachelor's degree from Elon University in 1980, his master's from the University of Virginia in 1982, and his doctorate from UVa in 1986. The St. Louis native and his wife, Rovena, have a son, Paul.
