EJ Devarie

Devarie enters his fourth season with the Greyhounds baseball program in 2025.

During his time with the Greyhounds, Devarie has worked primarily with the hitters and overseen the offensive unit, which has excelled over the past several seasons. In addition to producing record-breaking offensive performances, the group has combined for more than 150 stolen bases. The base-running attack was led by Caleb Vaughn and Easton Good in separate years, who set the program’s single-season and career stolen base record in back-to-back seasons.

In just three seasons with the program, Devarie has been part of two NCAA Division II College World Series teams, three NCAA Regional championships, and two NCAA Super Regional championships, with one Super Regional run cut short during the 2025 season. Under his guidance, the offense produced multiple All-GLVC and All-Region selections, along with several All-American honorees.

Prior to arriving in Indianapolis, Devarie spent the 2023 season at Seton Hall University as a volunteer assistant coach. Before his time at Seton Hall, he served as an assistant coach in the Cape Cod League with the Brewster Whitecaps in 2021, helping guide the team to the 2021 Cape Cod League Championship.

Devarie has also made coaching stops at Keystone College in Pennsylvania and Marian University in Indianapolis, working with hitters and infielders at both programs. At Keystone College, he helped lead the team to both a regular-season and conference tournament championship, culminating in an NCAA Division III Regional appearance.

Devarie began his coaching career following a four-year playing career at Ball State University and two seasons in the American Association
with the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Devarie has mentored numerous MLB draftees, including four first-round selections and more than 25 total MLB draft picks.
