Wissel graduated from DePauw University in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Media Studies. During his time at DePauw, Wissel was the Sports Director of DePauw's radio station, 91.5 WGRE, where he was the primary play-by-play commentator for DePauw athletics. Wissel also served as the football team's long snapper in his four years at DePauw.
