Matt Wardell joined the UIndy Sports Medicine team in October 2024 as Assistant Athletic Trainer. His primary sport assignments include men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, cheer, and dance.
Prior to UIndy, Matt was a Minor League Athletic Trainer Intern for the Chicago Cubs. He was assigned to their High-A Affiliate Team, the South Bend Cubs, where he worked the 2024 season. Matt is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned both his Master of Science in Athletic Training & Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Science degrees. While at IU, he worked with the football, baseball, track & field, and women's water polo programs, as well as Bloomington High School South and The School of Public Health Clinic – Contemporary Dance, Ballet, & ROTC. Matt has also worked as a clinical intern with the University of Georgia football team.
Matt currently resides and is a native of Indianapolis.
