<p><p><p>The University of Indianapolis has eight players on the 2004 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Football Team as selected by the 13 league coaches.</p> <p> Junior linebacker Bruce Renner (Delphos, Ohio/Jefferson) and senior offensive tackle Troy Tinsley (Noblesville) were named to the All-GLIAC First Team.</p> <p> Junior kicker Nick Parker (Granger/Penn) is an All-GLIAC second-team selection.</p> <p> Junior safety Derenzo Bushrod (Evansville/North), senior quarterback Matt Kohn (Adrian, Mich.), junior cornerback Carl Lile (Indianapolis/North Central), senior tail back Donnie McCoy (Indianapolis/Decatur Central), and junior guard Andy Moore (Bargersville/Center Grove) earned All-GLIAC honorable mention recognition.</p></p> <p> Renner moved up from 2003 All-GLIAC honorable mention status. The three-year starter leads the conference in tackles (12.4 per game), ranking third in NCAA II in solo tackles (7.4) and seventh in total tackles. The two-time Academic All-District first-team selection has reached double digits in tackles in 21 of his last 26 outings, amassing 337 career stops.</p> <p> Like Renner, Tinsley is an Academic All-District first-team pick who was All-GLIAC honorable mention in 2003. Tinsley is a four-year starter who led the Greyhounds with 42 "pancakes" and no sacks allowed this season. He is a 2003 Academic All-American.</p> <p> Parker is a three-year starter who is fifth in NCAA II in punting (42.4) and 26th in field goals per game (0.91). In the GLIAC, Parker is second in punting, field goals per game, and extra point accuracy (.969) and sixth in kick scoring (5.5). He earned GLIAC "Special Teams Player of the Week" honors after nailing a school-record 58-yard field goal on the game's final play in a 27-24 win at Gannon on October 16. Parker has 180 points in three seasons, needing just five to break the UIndy school record of 184 by Mark Bohannon (1981-84).</p> <p> Bushrod finished third among Greyhound defensive backs in tackles (38) despite missing four contests. The two-year starter had a 63-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Hounds' televised victory over Saint Joseph's.</p>
<p>Kohn finished his U of I career with school records of 652 completions, 8,514 passing yards, 55 touchdown passes, and 8,921 yards in total offense. In the GLIAC, Kohn is third on the career lists for passing yards (7,689) and total offense (7,785) for league games only.
Lile finished second on the Greyhounds with three interceptions this season, including a 68-yard pick and return for a touchdown in a televised win vs. Findlay. The two-year starter tied for the team lead with six pass breakups in 2004.
McCoy rushed for a career-high 968 yards this season. That total ranks eighth on the UIndy all-time list. The two-year starter broke the UIndy school record with 13 rushing touchdowns this season. McCoy is sixth in the GLIAC in rushing (88.0), seventh in scoring (7.1), and 10th in all-purpose yards (110.3).
Moore is a three-year starter who is a repeat selection to the All-GLIAC honorable mention team.
