<i>July 1, 2005</i>- Former Greyhound quarterback <b>Matt Kohn</b> has signed on to become a member of the Tupelo (Miss.) Fire Ants of the United Indoor Football league. The newly-formed professional indoor league began play this spring with 12 teams across the midwest and south.
Kohn will be in uniform for the Fire Ants for their next scheduled game at Evansville as they take on the Blue Cats this Saturday, July 2. There are three remaining games on the Fire Ants' schedule, all coming on the road.
Kohn completed an outstanding career at the U of I last fall, leaving as the record holder in nearly every category in the Greyhound annals. A 2003 Harlon Hill finalist, Kohn still holds the NCAA Division II single-game passing yardage record with 645, set on Sep. 20, 2003 vs. Michigan Tech. He is the career leader in passing yards (8,514), completions (652) and touchdown passes (55) at U of I.
