Women win, men fall at Ashland in GLIAC dual

ASHLAND, Ohio-  The Greyhound women's swimming team scored a 155-125 dual win over host Ashland in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet Saturday.  The UIndy men lost a close 148-132 contest to the host Eagles.

Erica Smith earned an NCAA B-cut time in the 100 butterfly, winning in 58.73.  Isabela Tafur outdistanced the field in the 100 freestyle, earning an NCAA A-cut in the process (51.72). 

Alex Arestis just missed out on a qualifying time on the men's side in that event, winning in 47.90.  Marios Panagi was just under a second off the B-cut standard in the 100 backstroke, but won the event with a 52.95 clocking. Manuel Steim won the 100 breaststroke, registering a B-cut time of 58.94.

Both 200 freestyle relay squads finished the meet with wins, giving the women a 155-125 victory while the men fell just short at 148-132. 

The Greyhound men compete next at Purdue University, this Friday.  Both teams will compete at the House of Champions Invite, a two-day event at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in downtown Indianapolis.  Action gets underway Dec. 5 at 6:00 p.m.
