On tap:  The Greyhounds continue a stretch with top-quality teams.  The Hounds have already played #1 Findlay and undefeated Hillsdale, another solid region team, before this week's showdown at nationally-ranked Grand Valley State.  The preseason pollsters have the Lakers ranked anywhere from 8 (Sporting News) to 11 (Preseason Coaches Poll) to 23 (Division II Bulletin).  UIndy then returns home, but  faces Northern Kentucky, who checks in at No. 5 in the most-recent NABC Coaches Poll.

About GVSU:  The Lakers are 3-0 on the season with their latest win a 75-72 victory over Saint Joseph's on Monday.  GV was led by Toreau Brown, who etched career highs with 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists in the win.The balanced scoring attack features four different players with double-figure averages in scoring and  seven players that are above 7.0 ppg.  The Lakers are in the midst of a five-game homstand to open the season and will play eight of their first ten in front of the home faithful.

UIndy Head Coach Stan Gouard:  Stan Gouard is in his first season as the head man at Indianapolis.  Gouard was introduced as the new head of the Greyhound program on Apr. 3, 2008.  He previously spent three years as an assistant coach at Indiana State following his three-year stint as an assistant at UIndy.  While at Indianapolis, Gouard was part of the staff that helped the Hounds to a 47-31 record, advancing to the NCAA tournament all three seasons.

The Series:  Grand Valley and Indianapolis have met in five of the past six seasons.  The Lakers won three of those meetings and hold a 4-2 edge all-time vs. UIndy, including two straight wins.  GVSU was a 70-51 winner on Dec. 28 last season in Nicoson Hall.  The last Greyhound win in the series came on Dec. 30, 2004 at home.

GLIAC Gauntlet:  Saturday's game will mark the third straight against a school from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  The GLIAC and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) make up the NCAA Midwest region.  These games are key to the selection process for the NCAA tournament as a team's record vs. in-region teams is heavily weighted in the criteria.  The Hounds have four games vs. GLIAC schools on the docket this season (Dec 22 at Saginaw Valley State).

Getting Offensive (Boards):  The Greyhounds are third in the GLVC in offensive rebounds per game (15.3).  UIndy has five players ranked in the top 15 in that category, led by Larry Woods (2.3 orpg), 11th-most in the league.  Braxton Mills, Sergey Struck and Tristan Rogers all avarage 2.0 offensive rebounds a game to tie for 15th.

Allendale Advantage:
The Lakers have enjoyed continued success and have won three games to start the season, all at home.  The wins have helped stretch some lengthy streaks.  GV has not lost in its home building in its last 36 games and the Lakers have now won 37 consecutive regular season games dating back to the 2006-07 season.

Keith from Deep:  Senior Keith Radcliff leads the team with seven three-pointers made this season, with at least two makes in all three games.  Radcliff made just 16 triples all of last season, but already has nearlt half that total this year.  The senior is the team's leading scorer with 15.7 points per contest.
