Radcliff leads Hounds to blowout win

Box score

PHILIPPI, W.Va.- The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team put the brakes on a five-game losing streak with a convincing 84-57 victory over Salem International at Alderson-Broaddus College Saturday night in non-conference play.  The game was the first of two for UIndy at the five-team, three-day tournament.

The Greyhounds held a 46-26 lead at the break, thanks in large part to the shooting of Radcliff, who poured in 18 points in the opening stanza.  The senior guard made 6-of-10 shots from the floor as the Hounds turned a 9-6 Salem advantage into a 22-11 lead with a 16-2 run midway through the period.  The Hounds closed the half with another long run, scoring 16 of the final 19 points for the 20-point halftime margin.  Tristan Rogers and Donald Cloutier each added eight points in the first half to aid in UIndy's highest point total in a half (46) since the season-opening win versus Taylor-Ft. Wayne (52).

Radcliff finished the night with a career-high 23 points, most of those coming from his personal-best five triples.  The Hounds hit a season-high 11 three-pointers on the night.  Four different Greyhounds were in double figures scoring with Cloutier adding a dozen, 11 from Dijon Knight and 10 by Rogers.

UIndy (2-5) will play the host school, Alderson-Broaddus, in Sunday's final day of action at the tournament.

Notes:  Radcliff (23), Knight (11) and Tyler Johnson (5) all set career highs for points in the win ... Radcliff also set a new best with five steals ...  UIndy recorded 24 assists on 29 field goals Saturday ... The Greyhound bench outscored Salem's subs 36-11.
