ALLENDALE, Mich.- Host Grand Valley State University won both the men's and women's duals in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference swimming action on Saturday. The Laker women edged UIndy, 174-118 while the GVSU men were victorious, 182-102.
UIndy scored two NCAA-qualifying times Saturday, both coming on the women's side.
Erica Smith won the 200 butterfly in an NCAA B-cut time of 2:10.69.
Ozlem Taskin scored the other B-cut when she won the 200 backstroke with her 2:09.51 clocking. Taskin also won the 200 freestyle (1:57.56). Other winners included:
Meghan Donahue in the 100 backstroke,
Casey Owen in the 50 freestyle
Adam Petro took the 200 butterfly, finishing in 1:56.80 for the UIndy men.
Austin Biefnes was the 200 individual medley winner, taking the event in 2:00.64.
Both UIndy 200 freestyle relay "A" squads were victorious to wrap up the meet. The women took first in 1:40.20 and the men logged a 1:29.80 time.
The Greyhounds travel to Lewis University next Saturday for another GLIAC dual.
