On tap:
The Greyhounds head into Thursday's matchup with wins in three of their last four games and are just two games back of securing a playoff spot in the postseason Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament.  With four games remaining, UIndy can assert itself right back into tournament consideration with wins this week.  The Hounds are looking to avenge losses from earlier in the season when they host KWC Thursday and travel to Bellarmine Saturday night.

About KWC:  The Panthers are 16-6 overall and 9-6 in league play heading into Thursday's game.  After a 7-0 start, KWC is just 2-2 in its last four games.  The Panthers hold a 4-3 record on the road this season.  The offense is about is balanced as you get with six players averaging more than 10 points per contest.  T.J. Smith joined the club after the calendar year and leads the point production with 15 points per game.  The top rebounder is Lorenzo Taylor, who brings down 7.5 boards per contest.

About BU:  The Knights shot out of the gate winning 14 straight games to start the season.  Since, BU is 5-5 with all five losses coming on the road.  At home, the Knights sport a perfect 8-0 mark with wins over NKU, KWC, USI and Drury highlighting the home docket.  Chartrael Hall and Braydon Hobbs each average 13.9 points per game and Justin Benedetti adds 11.5 for the Knights.  Hall leads the team in rebounds (5.5 rpg), assists (5.8 apg) and steals (44 total).

UIndy Head Coach Stan Gouard Stan Gouard is in his first season as the head man at Indianapolis.  Gouard was introduced as the new head of the Greyhound program on Apr. 3, 2008.  He previously spent three years as an assistant coach at Indiana State following his three-year stint as an assistant at UIndy.  While at Indianapolis, Gouard was part of the staff that helped the Hounds to a 47-31 record, advancing to the NCAA tournament all three seasons.

Last Meeting vs. KWC:  UIndy had its three-game winning streak snapped at the hands of No. 11-ranked host Kentucky Wesleyan at the Owensboro SportsCenter Jan. 2.  The host Panthers led throughout, but had to fend off a pesky Hounds squad that trimmed the second-half deficit to just a bucket before eventually posting the win.  Tristan Rogers led the Greyhounds in scoring with 14 while Keith Radcliff added 13 and Tyke Cockerham added 11.  Braxton Mills tallied a dozen rebounds to lead all players.  Maros Zuffa had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Panthers.

Last Meeting vs. BU:  Visiting Bellarmine remained unbeaten on the early season, charting an 86-71 win at Nicoson Hall Dec. 6.  The Knights hit over 60 percent of their shots and had 10 three-pointers en route to improving to 5-0 overall.  Four Greyhounds were in double figures scoring, with 12 from Keith Radcliff, 11 from Sergey Struck, who made his first start in a Greyhound uniform, and 10 more from Cloutier.  Justin Benedetti scored 19 and Braydon Hobbs added 18 for the Knights.

Three Week Surge:  UIndy started the conference schedule with a 1-9 record and headed into a Jan. 29th matchup with Wisconsin-Parkside with the worst record in the GLVC.  Three weeks later, the Hounds have wins in three of their last four games and have surged into playoff consideration in the final weeks of the season.

Playoff Implications:  The GLVC seedings will become clearer in the coming weeks as teams battle for eight spots in the postseason tournament.  The league will select the top three teams from each division (West, East) and then two more “wild card” teams (from either division) to make up the eight-team field.  Here's what the GLVC tournament field would look like if the season ended before Thursday's games:

#1E Northern Kentucky    12-2
#1W Rockhurst        11-3
#2E Bellarmine        10-5
#2W So. Indiana        10-3
#3E Ky. Wesleyan    9-6
#3W Drury        6-7
WC Lewis        8-6
WC Quincy         6-8
------------------    ----    Games back
St. Joseph's        6-9      .5
Mo.-St. Louis        5-9       1.0
Indianapolis        4-10    2.0
Missouri S&T        3-11    3.0

Thinking Thursday:  Thursday has been pretty good to the Greyhounds lately, as UIndy has won three of its last four games played on that date.  Conversely, the Hounds are just 3-7 on Saturday this season (and are 0-3 in road games on Saturdays).  Two of their Saturday wins came at home (Taylor-Ft.-Wayne, St. Joseph's) with the other on a neutral floor (vs. Salem International).
