Division II Winter Festival
HOUSTON- A trio of Greyhounds raced to All-American finishes in the University of Houston pool during the final day of competition at the 2009 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. #

Ozlem Taskin# and #
Isabela Tafur# all earned All-American recognition with their swims Saturday.
Alacli touched in 15.32.66 in the men's 1,650-meter freestyle race, good for sixth place. The All-American finish was the second of the sophomore's career, and broke his own Greyhound record in the race. The old mark was 15:32.66.
Taskin's eighth place finish in the 200-meter backstroke earned her All-American accolades and also broke a two-year-old UIndy record in the event. The freshman reached the wall in 2:04.86 to take her second All-American finish in her first trip to Nationals, as well as break Alison Smith's previous best mark of 2:05.33.
The 100-meter freestyle is where Tafur earned her 11th All-American nod and second of the 2009 Nationals. The senior touched in 50.07, breaking her previous UIndy record of 50.30 in the race.
In addition to the three All-Americans, #
Manuel Stiem#, who collected a trio of All-American finishes during this year's meet, finishe ninth in the 200-meter breaststroke in a time of 2:00.56. His time now stands as the best in UIndy history, besting the 2:01.28 set in 2001 by current Greyhound assistant coach, Orel Oral.
In all, UIndy collected 13 All-American finishes at the 2009 Championships, with Stiem and #
Erica Smith# each claiming three apiece. Tafur and Taskin each had two.
UIndy finished in 11th in the women's team standings with 137 overall points. The men finished in 15th with 94.5 points. Drury won both the women's and men's events, with Wayne State taking runner-up on both sides also.
