GVSU earns GLIAC dual wins

INDIANAPOLIS-  Grand Valley State swept a pair of duals in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference swimming action Saturday afternoon at Ruth Lilly Center Pool.  The Laker women earned a 142.5-91.5 win while the GV men were 162-78 winners.

Maura Donahue earned two NCAA B-cut times (1:54.56) in winning the 200 freestyle and 500 free (5:07.50).  Erica Smith also nabbed a pair of B-cuts with her wins in the 200 IM (2:10.63) and 100 butterfly (58.40).  They kicked-off the meet by swimming legs of the victorious 200 medley relay (1:50.83).  Meghan Donahue beat the field to the wall, sneaking in ahead by less than a second for a 1:00.09 win in the 100 backstroke.  The 200 free relay wrapped-up women's action by winning the event in 1:38.04.

Guy Kogel won the 100 fly in a B-cut time (50.33) and later helped the 200 free relay to a win (1:26.39).  Justin Klopp won the 50 freestyle, touching in 21.59.

The Greyhounds will host Lewis University next Saturday at RLFC Pool.  The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
