Men's hoops looks to continue high-scoring ways Saturday afternoon

On Tap:  The Greyhounds continue their season-opening seven-game homestand against Purdue North Central on Saturday at Nicoson Hall. This game is an exhibition for PNC.

About Purdue North Central:  The Panthers are a NAIA Division II team based in Westville, Ind., that plays its home games at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium. Six-foot senior guard Nick Neal is the only double-figure scorer with 18.2 points per game. Six-three freshman David Kelly adds 8.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Series History:  The Greyhounds have never played Purdue North Central.

Cincinnati-Clermont Recap:  UIndy nearly reached the century mark, 99-64, in beating the Cougars behind 31 forced turnovers and 21 steals. Adrian Moss led the way with 25 points, nine assists and six steals. Box on page 10.

Second Impact:  Joe Daniels, Jarrett Hamilton, Brennan McElroy and Miles Mitchell all look to see significant increases in playing time in their sophomore season in the Crimson and Grey.

Hamilton has scored a career-high 20 points in back-to-back games to lead the team in scoring and three-pointers (6-of-8).

McElroy is averaging 12 points, five rebounds and three steals per game, while leading the team in dunks (4) and field goal percentage (.692).

Mitchell leads the team in minutes (33.5) and is averaging 6.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game, while Daniels is chipping in 6.5 points and rebounds per game.

ADRIAN!!!:  Moss was named preseason honorable mention All-America by The Sporting News and is living up to that billing early. He leads UIndy with 6.5 assists and 6.0 steals per game, along with 19.0 points and 3.5 rebounds.

OHH-Neal:  O'Neal is averaging 4.5 offensive rebounds per game on his way to a team-high 10.0 rebounds per game and 15.5 points. He had a career-high 14 rebounds against Cincinnati-Clermont (11/16).

Cheath-ing Them:  Newcomer Reece Cheatham scored 18 points against Cincinnati-Clermont (11/16) and is averaging 12.5 points per game and shooting 5-of-9 (.556) behind the three-point line.

Light the Lamp:  UIndy was 11th in the country with 83.9 points per game last season and has kept that up with 93.0 points per game to start 2011-12.

Hounds on TV:  Produced by HomeTown Television, the following games will be televised via tape-delay and air on WRTV 6.2 HTSN: Dec. 1 vs. Bellarmine, Jan. 16 vs. St. Joseph's, Feb. 2 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan and Feb. 4 vs. Southern Indiana. The Greyhounds were 5-1 last season in televised games.
