LOUISVILLE -- Adrian Moss led all players with 20 points and added seven assists and four rebounds, but No. 2 Bellarmine hung on at home against UIndy, 80-70, in front of 1,793 at Knights Hall.

Darius Adams added 17 points and four rebounds for the Greyhounds (18-7, 11-6 GLVC) against the Knights (23-1, 16-0 GLVC) as they clinched the GLVC regular season championship.
Wilbur O'Neal chipped in 15 points and five rebounds as UIndy shot 44.1 percent from the field (26-59), but could connect on just 6-of-22 three-pointers (.273). Bellarmine shot 53.2 percent (25-47) and out-rebounded UIndy 36-27, which led to a 17-8 advantage in second-chance points. Bellarmine also made 23-of-30 free throws (.767), while limited UIndy to just 12-of-14 (.857).

Stan Gouard said. "They don't make many mistakes and then make you pay for yours. I told the team that the tougher and smarter team would win and tonight that was them. We were right there, but we made a few too many defensive mistakes."
The Knights placed five in double figures, led by Braydon Hobbs with 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Jeremy Kendle scored 17 and Luke Sprague added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The first half was tightly contested with nine ties and five lead changes. Bellarmine took an early four-point edge, 12-8, but a four-point play by Squires on a feed from Moss and two free throws by Adams put UIndy in front, 16-14, with 13:07 to go. The Knights came back and re-gained a four-point lead, 24-20, however UIndy scored seven of the next 10 to regain the lead with a triple by
Cory Zackery, 27-26, with 5:09 to play. BU again went in front, 33-29, but Adams hit a three-pointer with 52 seconds left in the half to keep UIndy within one, 33-32, at intermission.
The Knights scored the first six points of the second half to push their lead to seven, 39-32, and kept the margin around there for the next 5:30. The Hounds rallied with back-to-back three-pointers from Moss and
Daniel Daudu to climb within one, 46-45, with 13:24 to go.
The Knights went up three, 50-47, after a bank shot by Hobbs, but Moss tied the score with a three-pointer. After a stop, Adams was fouled by Bellarmine's Chris Dowe, who was then whistled for a technical. Adams made all four free throws to give UIndy its largest lead, 54-50, with 10:28 to go. The Knights came right back with a five-point possession. Kendle hit a jumper and was fouled, but he missed the free throw. The Knights corralled the offensive rebound and then hit a three-pointer to regain the lead, 55-54, just 25 seconds later. The run extended to 9-0 as Bellarmine went up five, 59-54, with 8:35 still to play.
The Greyhounds were able to inch back and pull within a deuce on three occassions, the last at 66-64 with 4:12 to play. The Knights then used crisp ball movement to hit back-to-back three-pointers and grow their lead to eight, 72-64, with 3:03 on the scoreboard. The Greyhounds got a lay-up from O'Neal to cut the lead to six, 72-66, on the next possession. UIndy couldn't get closer as it didn't score again until 41 seconds remained and Bellarmine had hit 4-of-4 free throws to grow its lead to 10, 76-66.
The Greyhounds conclude the regular season on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. at Nicoson Hall against No. 18 Northern Kentucky (19-5, 12-4 GLVC). The game is Coaches vs. Cancer and their will be a "Black Out" with all fans encouraged to wear black. The game will also be televised by Hometown Sports Indiana.
