Greyhounds sweep Lewis on Senior Day

The University of Indianapolis swimming and diving teams swept their doubleheader dual meet against Lewis during Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Ruth Lilly Center Pool. The No. 10 men won 109-85, while the No. 14 women won 100-78.

Each team won seven events in the last regular season meet of the season before both teams head to Jenison, Mich., for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships beginning on Feb. 8. Buy full session passes.

The men had a pair of NCAA "B" cut qualifying times with Bruno Barbosa winning the 200 IM in a season-best 1:55.08 and Daniel Chan in a season-best 4:39.40 in the 500 free. Chan also won the 100 fly in 51.12.

Aviv Sela won the 100 breast in 1:00.40 and Aaron Stevenson and Nikolas Aresti tied to win the 50 free in 21.58. Bryan Lubarsky, Muzaffer Demirtas, Justin Lyle and Justin Rossillo won the 400 medley relay in 3:59.95, while Tyler Offutt won the one-meter diving with 305.55 points. Offutt reached NCAA Championship qualifying standards in both the one-meter and three-meter with 315.55 points.

Senior Meghan Donahue won a pair of events with a win in the 100 free in 53.71 and then teaming with fellow seniors Jaclyn Luscomb, Kristin Howdyshell and Vicki Galiamoutsa to win the 400 medley relay in 3:59.95.

Julia Walters won the 50 free in a NCAA "B" cut of 24.25, while Maura Donahue won the 200 free in 1:57.05, Julia Madeira won the 500 free in 5:17.59 and Sarah Griffin took the 1,000 free in 11:03.82. Amber Cooper added a win in the 200 IM in 2:14.86.
