INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host their Pink Meet to raise breast cancer awareness on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Ruth Lilly Center Pool. The Greyhounds will face off against Ashland for the final time as Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rivals with UIndy moving to the Great Lakes Valley Conference next season.
The Greyhounds and Eagles are two of the top teams in NCAA Division II and battled to the wire at last year's GLIAC Championships. UIndy was third in both the men's and women's meet, while Ashland was fourth. At the NCAA Championships, the UIndy men were 12th, while Ashland was 16th. On the women's side, Ashland was seventh and the Greyhounds were 11th.
There will be several things going on Saturday at the pool, including a Vera Bradley silent auction and UIndy swimming and diving discount cards will be available. The Hounds are also offering UIndy swimming and diving apparel through Nike as a fundraiser that runs through Nov. 11. Items are promised to be delivered by Christmas. The Greyhounds will also be sporting pink swim caps for the event.
Last season when these
two teams met in Ashland, Ohio, the Greyhound men won a close decision, 149-139, while the women fell, 159-117.
